Last week, a critical security vulnerability in the Java logging library log4j was made public!
One first thing:
No SpiderControl product is or was ever affected by this!
- Log4j was never used with the Java applets formerly used in the Web HMI.
- The MicroBrowser as a frequently used Java applet client replacement is implemented completely Java-free.
This shows once again that the MicroBrowser has elegantly solved the many problems that have arisen with Java
over the years, elegantly solved for our customers. - Other products like the VPI Portal have also never used Log4j.
